The short answer
For a video going out this week, use TikTok's own scheduler. For anything further ahead, or a video that should also become a Reel and a Short, use a scheduling tool.
Schedule with TikTok's own scheduler
- Open tiktok.com in a desktop browser and log in.
- Click Upload and add your video, caption and cover.
- Under When to post, switch from Now to Schedule.
- Choose the date and time, then click Schedule.
Three limits are worth knowing before you rely on it:
- It is short-range. At the time of writing the window is roughly 15 minutes to 10 days ahead, so a monthly plan does not fit.
- It is desktop only. The mobile app has no scheduling option.
- A scheduled video is locked. You cannot edit the caption or the time afterwards; you delete it and upload again.
Schedule further ahead, or to more than TikTok
In SOSPosting you upload the vertical video, tick TikTok and whichever other networks should get it, and pick a time up to 60 days ahead. The video publishes straight to your TikTok profile with its caption on it, with no draft to open and no Post button to tap.
One step is deliberately manual: you choose who can watch the video and whether comments, Duet and Stitch are allowed. TikTok requires that choice to be made by the creator for each post, so no tool is allowed to pick it for you.
- The same upload can also go to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Threads, each with its own caption.
- Photos work too. A photo post goes to TikTok alongside Instagram, Facebook and the other photo networks.
- Cost: 5 tokens per network for a video, 3 for a photo, plus 7 once for AI captions.
- If a setting changes: should the visibility you picked no longer be available on your account when the post is due, the post stops and tells you, rather than quietly publishing with a different one.
Setup takes a minute: see the TikTok integration guide. Developers wondering why some tools can only send drafts will find the reason in how TikTok's API audit works.
Frequently asked questions
Can you schedule TikTok posts for free?
Yes. TikTok's own scheduler is free. It is used from a desktop browser when you upload a video, where a Schedule option sits next to Post.
How far in advance can you schedule a TikTok?
TikTok's built-in scheduler accepts times from about 15 minutes to 10 days ahead at the time of writing. SOSPosting schedules up to 60 days ahead.
Can you edit a scheduled TikTok?
Not in TikTok's own scheduler: once a video is scheduled its caption and time are locked, so the fix is to delete it and upload again. In SOSPosting you can change the time of a scheduled post before it goes out.
Can you schedule TikTok posts from your phone?
TikTok's scheduler is a desktop feature. A web-based scheduling tool works from any phone browser, and SOSPosting also accepts a video sent to its Telegram bot.
