SOSPosting

One API to post to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube

Published

Posting to a social network from your own code is easy to write and slow to get permission for. Each platform has its own review. Here is what those reviews involve, and the alternative.

The short answer

You can integrate each network directly, but the code is the small part. The approvals are the project. A unified API puts one request in front of all of them, in exchange for publishing through someone else's approved apps.

What direct integration actually involves

  • Instagram and Facebook: a Meta app, business verification, and app review for each publishing permission, with a screencast showing how you use it.
  • TikTok: the Content Posting API audit before videos can be published publicly. Until it is passed, an app can only deliver to a creator's drafts. We wrote up how that works.
  • YouTube: Google's OAuth verification for the upload scope, including a review of how the data is used.
  • Then the differences: separate token lifetimes and refresh rules, different media requirements, different error formats, and rate limits that each behave in their own way.

None of it is conceptually hard. It is weeks of waiting, repeated per platform, and then maintenance every time one of them changes a rule.

The single-endpoint version

With the SOSPosting API a post is one request:

curl -X POST https://app.sosposting.com/api/v1/posts   -H "Authorization: Bearer sosp_your_key"   -H "Content-Type: application/json"   -d '{
    "type": "reel",
    "mediaUrl": "https://example.com/video.mp4",
    "caption": "New arrival, in store today",
    "providers": ["INSTAGRAM", "TIKTOK", "YOUTUBE"],
    "useAi": true
  }'

The response gives you a post id and one target per network. Fetching that post id later returns the delivery status of each target, so a failure on one network does not hide a success on another. Add scheduledAt to publish later, and use the presign endpoint if you would rather upload the file than host it.

The trade-offs

  • You publish through our apps. Your users connect their accounts to SOSPosting, not to an app with your name on the consent screen.
  • It is billed per post, in tokens, at the same price as the dashboard. That suits moderate volume better than very high volume.
  • Post types decide reach. A video can go to five networks and a photo to seven; no single request reaches all ten, because the networks themselves accept different things.
  • Metrics are partial. Views, likes and comments come back for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube targets, which are the platforms that expose per-post figures.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one API that posts to multiple social networks?

Yes. The SOSPosting REST API takes one request with a media URL, a caption and a list of networks, and publishes to each of them. It covers Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, WordPress and Shopify, subject to which networks each post type can reach.

Do I need my own Meta or TikTok developer app?

No. Your users connect their accounts through SOSPosting's already-approved apps, so you do not go through Meta app review, TikTok's audit or Google's verification yourself.

How is the API authenticated?

With a Bearer token that begins sosp_. Keys are created in the dashboard under Settings, API access, and each key is scoped to one business.

What does an API post cost?

The same tokens as a post made in the dashboard: 3 per network for a photo, 5 for a video, and 7 once if you ask for AI captions. A delivery that fails on the service side is refunded automatically.

Post once. Publish everywhere.

Cross-post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Shopify and six more platforms from one place — with AI-written captions and Google Ads on autopilot.
