SOSPosting

Cross-post Shopify products to social media automatically

Published

Most products launch to silence: a quiet store update and no posts anywhere. Here's the workflow where adding a product once creates the Shopify listing and the social posts together — with copy written for each channel.

First, how this actually works — because it's the opposite of what most people expect. SOSPosting doesn't watch your Shopify store and repost what it finds. Instead, you add the product once in SOSPosting, and one publish creates everything: the live Shopify listing and the Instagram Reel, YouTube Short, TikTok draft and Facebook post promoting it. One upload, product launched everywhere at the same moment.

Step 1: give Shopify a posting key (5 minutes, once)

Shopify's Admin API uses a private "custom app" you create inside your own store — no app store listing involved:

  1. In Shopify Admin: Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app (call it "SOSPosting").
  2. Under API scopes, enable write_products. Add read_orders too if you want revenue attribution (below).
  3. Install the app and copy the Admin API access token — Shopify shows it once.
  4. In SOSPosting's Integrations, paste the token and your yourstore.myshopify.com domain.

Step 2: connect the social channels

Connect Instagram (a Business account linked to a Facebook Page), TikTok, YouTube and Facebook in the same Integrations screen. Each is a sign-in, not a config project.

Step 3: add the product and publish

  1. Add the product in the composer — name, price, and a photo or a short vertical video. From your phone, the Telegram bot takes the same input.
  2. AI writes every piece of copy: an SEO-friendly product description for the listing, an Instagram caption with hashtags, a searchable YouTube Short title, a TikTok hook — each channel gets its own, in your brand voice. Edit anything before it goes out.
  3. Publish, or schedule up to 60 days out. The product appears in Shopify as an active listing with your price and image, and the posts go live across your channels.

Closing the loop: which posts actually sell

Product links in your posts carry UTM tags, and with the read_orders scope SOSPosting reads your paid orders and splits out the ones whose visit arrived through those links. The dashboard shows attributed orders and revenue — so "TikTok drives our sales" becomes a number, not a feeling.

Honest trade-offs

  • It creates products; it doesn't import your back catalogue. Existing Shopify products aren't synced in — this flow is for launching new items with promotion attached.
  • The listing is deliberately simple: one variant with price and optional SKU, inventory starting at 1. Multi-variant setups (sizes, colours) you finish in Shopify Admin afterwards.
  • TikTok ends in your drafts — you tap Post in the app and paste the prepared caption. That's TikTok's no-audit rule, explained in this guide.

Who this fits

Dropshippers and DTC brands launching often, makers with a steady stream of new items — anyone for whom the 30 minutes of per-product posting is the reason most products never got promoted.
