Post to Instagram and WordPress at the same time

Published

One upload, published to both — here is exactly what each network turns it into, and what does not carry across.

What reaches both

One kind of post reaches both Instagram and WordPress:

You uploadOn InstagramOn WordPress
Product — a product with a photo and pricePromo photo posted to Instagram.Created as a WooCommerce product (needs WooCommerce API keys).

What does not carry across

Worth knowing before you plan a batch — these are limits of the networks, not of the tool:

  • Reel / Short video reaches Instagram but not WordPress.
  • Social photo post reaches Instagram but not WordPress.

Limits worth knowing first

  • Instagram: Publishing goes through a Facebook Page — an Instagram professional account has to be linked to one. Reels are not live until Instagram finishes transcoding, which can take several minutes.
  • WordPress: Connected with a WordPress Application Password. WooCommerce products need a second credential pair (a WooCommerce REST key and secret) on top of it.

Connecting the two accounts

  • Instagram connects with one click, through its own login screen.
  • WordPress is connected with an app password or API token rather than a login redirect — it takes a minute longer, once.

Both connect once and stay connected; if a network expires its own token, the account is paused and you are emailed to reconnect it rather than left with posts silently failing.

How it works

  1. Connect Instagram and WordPress in Integrations.
  2. Upload your product once and pick both as targets.
  3. Let the AI write a caption per network, or write your own.
  4. Publish now, or schedule it. Each delivery is tracked separately.

Frequently asked questions

Can I post to Instagram and WordPress at the same time?

Yes. product posts reach both Instagram and WordPress from a single upload — you choose both as targets and publish once.

Does the caption have to be identical on Instagram and WordPress?

No. SOSPosting writes a separate, native caption for each network — the length, tone and hashtags that suit Instagram are not the ones that suit WordPress. You can edit either before publishing, or write both yourself.

What can I not send to both?

A vertical video post reaches Instagram but not WordPress. A photo post reaches Instagram but not WordPress. Those are limits of the networks themselves, not of the tool.

What happens if one of them fails?

Each network is delivered independently, so one failing does not block the other. A delivery that fails for good is refunded automatically — you are not charged tokens for a post that never went out.
